Terms of Service
Welcome to Rolemate! These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Rolemate mobile app (the “App”), operated by Eini Studios LLC, a limited liability company based in California, United States (“Eini Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Please read these Terms carefully. Three things to know up front: Rolemate is for adults only (18+); we have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users; and we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation — see our Child Safety Standards in Section 6.
By using Rolemate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Eini Studios LLC (“Eini Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of the Rolemate mobile application and related services (the “App”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Our in-app community Rules (the “Rules”) and any other policies we present in the App are part of these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Rolemate.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information. It is available in the App and at:
2. Eligibility — Rolemate is for adults (18+)
Rolemate is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the App. No one under 18 may use Rolemate for any reason.
- You must provide your real age during account setup. Misrepresenting your age is a serious violation of these Terms and will result in termination of your account.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement with us, and you may not use the App if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
- You may not use the App if we have previously banned you, and you may not create a new account to evade a suspension or ban.
3. Your account
- You sign in to Rolemate with your Google or Apple account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your Rolemate account.
- The information you provide during setup and on your profile must be accurate. You may not impersonate another person or entity.
- Your account is personal to you. You may not sell, rent, transfer, or share your account, and each person may maintain only one account.
- If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization, contact us at rolematehelp@gmail.com right away.
- We may reclaim, change, or disable usernames, avatars, or other profile elements that violate these Terms or the rights of others.
4. Community Rules and acceptable use
Rolemate is a creative community built around roleplay, starters, group chats, and direct messages. To keep it safe and welcoming, you agree to follow the Rules shown in the App and this section. When using Rolemate, you must not:
- violate any applicable law or regulation, or encourage or help anyone else to do so;
- harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or defame anyone, or engage in hate speech or discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age;
- engage in any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation — see Section 6 (Child Safety Standards), which applies to real and fictional content alike;
- share or threaten to share intimate images of a person without their consent, create sexual content involving a real person without their consent, or engage in sextortion;
- post sexually explicit or pornographic material — graphic descriptions or depictions of sexual acts, or explicit images — in public areas of the App, including starters, group chats, profiles, usernames, and avatars. Suggestive, romantic, and mature adult themes are part of what Rolemate is for; explicit material is not. We do not screen private one-to-one messages, but every other rule here — including the child-safety and consent rules above — applies everywhere on Rolemate;
- encourage, glorify, or provide instructions for self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders, or promote, threaten, or celebrate violence, violent extremism, or terrorism;
- deceive, defraud, scam, or phish other users, or impersonate any person, brand, or entity;
- send spam, chain messages, unsolicited advertising or promotions, or malicious links, or use the App for unauthorized commercial purposes;
- share another person’s private information (such as their real name, address, phone number, email, or photos) without permission — and protect your own privacy by not sharing your sensitive personal information;
- upload or share content that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- upload viruses or other malicious code, probe or breach our security, access accounts or data without authorization, scrape or harvest data from the App, or operate bots or other automated clients;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except to the extent permitted by law, exploit bugs or glitches (please report them through the App’s bug-report feature instead), or circumvent or interfere with security, moderation, or blocking features.
Fiction is not a loophole. Roleplay and creative writing are the heart of Rolemate, but content that violates these Terms is prohibited even when framed as roleplay, fiction, or “just a character.” Roleplay may also not be used to target, harass, or defame real people.
5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Rolemate. To keep the community safe, the App provides:
- Reporting. You can report users, groups, and content directly in the App. You can also send bug reports and contact us from the App at any time.
- Blocking. You can block any user. Blocking stops direct messages between you and hides their starters, profile, and chats from your side of the App — but in a group chat you both belong to, you may still see their messages. Attempting to get around a block violates these Terms.
- Moderation. We moderate through a combination of automated checks, user reports, and review by our team. Starters are screened automatically before they appear and may be hidden or held for a human moderator; our Privacy Policy explains how that works and how to ask a person to review it. Messages in one-to-one and group chats are not screened automatically — we review them when someone reports them. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and, where appropriate, restricting or removing the user who provided it.
We may remove or refuse to display any content, and may restrict, suspend, or terminate any account, at any time and without prior notice, where we believe it is necessary to protect our users, comply with the law, or enforce these Terms.
6. Child Safety Standards — zero tolerance for CSAE
Rolemate has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) in any form. Rolemate is an 18+ service, and no one under 18 may use it. These published standards apply to every user and to all content and behavior on the App.
What we prohibit
- Child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”) of any kind, including images, video, audio, text, drawings, and AI-generated or otherwise fictional depictions.
- Any sexual, sexualized, or romantic content involving a minor (anyone under 18), whether real or fictional. In roleplay, characters who are presented, described, or reasonably understood to be under 18 may not be placed in sexual or romantic scenarios — including characters claimed to be “aged up.”
- Grooming — building trust or an emotional connection with a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, whether on or off the App.
- Sextortion — threatening to expose real or fabricated intimate material to coerce anyone — and any sexual extortion involving minors.
- The trafficking or advertisement of minors for sexual purposes.
- Any attempt by an adult to contact, solicit, or arrange meetings with minors, on or off the App.
- Underage use of the App. Accounts we identify as belonging to anyone under 18 are terminated.
How to report a child safety concern
- Use the in-app reporting tools on profiles, group chats, and content to report any user, group, or content. Reports involving child safety are treated with the highest priority.
- You can also email our designated child safety point of contact at rolematehelp@gmail.com — please use the subject line “Child Safety.”
- If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first.
What we do
- When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAE or CSAM on Rolemate, we take immediate action: we remove the content, permanently ban the accounts involved, and preserve relevant material as evidence where required by law.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or other relevant authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
- We comply with applicable child safety laws, including our reporting obligations under United States law.
7. Your content
You own your content
Rolemate lets you create and share content — messages, group-chat messages, starters, likes, your profile (username, bio, gender, age), and images you upload such as avatars, chat wallpapers, and photos sent in chats (together, “Your Content”). You retain all ownership rights in Your Content.
The license you give us
So that we can run Rolemate, you grant Eini Studios a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license — with the right to sublicense to the service providers that help us operate the App — to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resizing or compressing images), publish, transmit, and display Your Content, solely to operate, provide, moderate, secure, and improve the App and to enforce our Terms and Rules. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except that (a) messages you sent in group chats you don’t own may remain visible to those groups, and (b) we may retain content where necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or backup purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for Your Content. Only share content you have the right to share, and make sure it complies with these Terms and the Rules.
- Rolemate messages are not end-to-end encrypted, and our systems can access them to operate and moderate the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not use Rolemate to share anything you need to keep confidential.
- Other users’ content is their responsibility. We do not endorse user content, and views expressed on Rolemate are those of the users who post them.
Photos in chats
You may send photos in one-to-one chats and in custom group chats. Photos must be safe for work everywhere on Rolemate: nudity, sexual content, and graphic violence are prohibited in every chat, including private one-to-one conversations, regardless of the age or consent of the people involved. We re-encode and compress every photo you send, which also removes embedded metadata such as location.
- Moderation. Photos are reviewed on report, not scanned automatically. If you see a photo that breaks these Terms or the Rules, report it in the app. When we obtain actual knowledge of child sexual abuse material we act as described in Section 6 — removal, permanent bans, preservation of evidence where required, and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement.
- Automatic deletion. Photos sent in chats are deleted automatically about 90 days after they are sent, and the message becomes a placeholder. Do not treat Rolemate as storage for anything you want to keep.
- Evidence preservation. If a photo is reported, we keep a copy for as long as we need it to review the report and to meet our legal obligations — including after the 90-day deletion would otherwise have removed it, and after the original message is deleted or removed by a moderator.
- Group moderation. Group owners, moderators with the relevant permission, and Rolemate admins can remove individual messages, including photos, from a group chat.
- Screenshots. We do not block screenshots. Instead, when someone takes a screenshot while a one-to-one chat is open, we post a notice in that chat so the other person is told. Treat that notice as a courtesy, not a guarantee: we cannot detect screenshots on every device, and we cannot detect screen recording, a second phone photographing the screen, or any other way of copying what is on display. We cannot guarantee that a recipient will not capture, save, or re-share any photo you send. Never send a photo you would not be comfortable having saved.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Rolemate infringes your copyright, email us at rolematehelp@gmail.com with the subject “Copyright,” including a description of your work, where the allegedly infringing content appears, and your contact details. We remove infringing content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Moderation, enforcement, and appeals
- We may take any enforcement action we consider appropriate for a violation of these Terms or the Rules, including removing content, issuing warnings, limiting features, suspending accounts, or permanently banning accounts.
- Enforcement is proportionate to severity. Minor violations usually result in warnings or content removal, while severe violations — including anything covered by Section 6 (Child Safety Standards), credible threats of violence, and sextortion — result in immediate permanent bans and, where appropriate, reports to authorities.
- Creating a new account to evade a suspension or ban is itself a violation and will result in the new account being banned.
- We may retain limited moderation records after enforcement or account deletion, as described in our Privacy Policy, to prevent abuse and ban evasion.
- If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal. Banned accounts can submit an appeal directly in the App, or you can email us at rolematehelp@gmail.com. We review appeals and respond as quickly as we can.
9. Your license to use the App
The App — including its software, design, graphics, logos, and the Rolemate name — belongs to Eini Studios or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you downloaded the App.
Except as allowed by these Terms or by applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App, and you may not remove or alter any proprietary notices. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
10. Feedback
We take feedback seriously and love hearing from you. If you send us ideas, suggestions, or other feedback about Rolemate, you agree that we may use it without restriction and without compensation to you. Feedback is always voluntary.
11. Third-party services
Rolemate relies on third-party services — for example, Google and Apple for sign-in, and providers for hosting, storage, notifications, and diagnostics. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Content shared by users may include links to third-party websites or services; you access them at your own risk.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have — including how to delete your account and data. Please read it:
13. Updates, availability, and changes to the App
- We are continuously building Rolemate. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may deliver updates through the app stores or over-the-air updates. Some features may require the latest version of the App.
- We work hard to keep Rolemate available, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may suspend or limit the App, in whole or in part, for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons.
- We may discontinue the App or any feature at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of a permanent shutdown.
14. Termination
- You can stop using Rolemate at any time and can delete your account in the App (Settings → Delete Account), from our web deletion page, or by emailing rolematehelp@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. Deletion is available to every user, including banned and suspended accounts, and works as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or the Rules, if we are required to do so by law, if your account creates risk or possible legal exposure for us or for other users, or if we discontinue the App.
- Upon termination, your license to use the App ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including the license to Your Content described in Section 7, our intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and the governing-law and dispute provisions — survive.
15. Disclaimers
Rolemate connects you with other people. We do not conduct background checks and we cannot vouch for any user. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users — use good judgment, keep your personal information private, and use the blocking and reporting tools whenever you need them.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EINI STUDIOS AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP, THE CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR CONTENT — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain liabilities. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eini Studios and its officers, members, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the App, your violation of these Terms or the Rules, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the App, are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at rolematehelp@gmail.com — most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction — except that either party may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court, and you may have the right under the mandatory laws of your country of residence to bring claims in your local courts.
19. Additional terms for users on Apple devices
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and Eini Studios only — not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”) — and Eini Studios, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Scope of license. The license granted to you in Section 9 is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. Eini Studios, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services for the App.
- Warranty. Eini Studios is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Product claims. Eini Studios, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to an applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property claims. In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Eini Studios, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of the claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms,
